MONTREAL FRINGE - Previous View Impressions

MONTREAL FRINGE shows I've seen before

At a certain point, when i enter a new Fringe Festival it's not uncommon for me to have seen a collection of shows. I've gathered my previous reviews here along with the lasting impressions they've left upon me.

1 SMALL LIE - Martin Dockery is a masterful storyteller who crafts excellent shows that are hilarious, challenging, exciting, riveting and absolutely memorable. This story about an incident that spirals into madness is one incredible feat that I highly recommend.

IGGY BEAMISH - Okay, last year at Edmonton I actually didn't review this show- BUT Johnny's performance was memorable, exciting and my personal choice for male performer of the year with my Golden Chair award. A delightful campy gay takedown on marriage, purpose and rediscovering yourself in a new era.

SOLOVELA - I wrote this review BEFORE I started working with her- but Diane remains one of my favorite improvisers working today - and I am fortunate enough to say one of my favorite people. By the time this tour is done I will have seen this show over 50 times, but it hasn't gotten old once. An absolute must-see at any Fringe she is at.

CRACKS - Another show I saw but didn't review, I initially saw this as a part of Cincy Fringe 2024. Claire is a great storyteller and her casual storytelling style is disarming in the best way. Her story of openness and self acceptance is beautiful and heartbreaking and an absolute must-see for anyone looking to laugh and cry.

1-MAN NO-SHOW - A hilarious clown piece from Isaac Kessler. I saw this as a part of Cincy Fringe 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed his out there, kooky style of not-quite fully abrasive clowning. He remains one of my favorite buffoons and one that I hope to see more of in the future.
