A CANADIAN EXPLAINS EUROVISION TO AMERICANS
Hi, I'm Matti.
What's your trauma?
CW: Religious trauma, Abuse, Canadianisms, Puns,
Welcome to the wonderfully weird world of Eurovision. A crazy blend of music, mania and and magic from half a world away.
Get ready to discover way too much about this music contest - and A LITTLE BIT MORE! (That's a Eurovision pun you probably don't get yet - but trust me - it's hilarious)
Eurovision might seem like something far off and completely detached from America - but the impacts of this affair have long been cultural touchstones that you might not even be aware of!
Big thanks to so many people for helping me pull this together.
Joel, Hunter, Glen, Johnnie, Chris, Paivi, Flavio, Jonathan, Brian and Eric, Heather, Brooklyn, Marcel - So many more who helped me pull this together in such a unique and dynamic way.
Everyone who supported my fundraiser in January! Hope you enjoyed what I created!
Thanks for being a part of this crazy little adventure.
VOICEOVER : KEITH BROWN, THOM MESROBIAN
ABOOT THE PERFORMER
Matti hails from Northern Ontario. He is a renowned body painter, writer, creator and Eurovision enthusiast.
Previous works include Solo Painting, BODIES (Juror's Choice - On The Edge Fringe 2024) and Actual Chaos. He aspires to create work that is poignant, raw and silly/serious.
As a body painter, Matti has painted thousands of people, and lately has been shining a heavy focus on queer visibility and joy in the face of opposing forces. His project GLITTERBOMB seeks to share queer populations through the medium of body painting to show that the LGBTQ+ community is not to be feared but celebrated.

Those who don't know - your new president is kind of a pinhead - BUT one great thing he's done is unite Canadians. It's been a hard year to be a Canadian, especially a Canadian in the arts. I myself have spent the majority of my time seeking employment in an unstable market and have found myself unable to do so - but now that we're here and times are happier, I am seeking to share and uplift my fellow Canadians and recommending a few Canadian shows that I think YOU would enjoy.
