Can I review a show from the inside? Perhaps - but let's try to keep it unbiased.
As someone who hasn't had a long history of being included in the cool kids, and growing up in Toronto where improv is often treated as something you can only do after many expensive classes (believe me - I've checked) Ryan and Quinn have created something that is comfortable, exceptional and delightful.
Between two separate shows I was positioned as both monologuist and as performer, and in both situations I was treated with care, respect and as an equal.
Both performers gather a host of performers from other shows and do a series of Armando style improv shorts based around monologues gifted either from the audience, a monologuist who creates the stories- or from the other performers. There is a looseness that allows the production to flow with a great deal of care paid to each of the participants in a way that allowed everyone to shine.
Most impressive was their caring and kind nature and willingness to be ridiculous. In both productions they allowed people of all experiences and abilities to shine.
This as a production from their company "Still Your Friend" and to be fair- this motif carries well into the production as they were affable, engaging and supportive in a way that other improv troupes could likely study.
