This show is a lot of fun. The performers are all having a great time and the spirit is contagious to the audience. Peppered with clever writing and a fun concept with it's tongue planted firmly in its cheek,
Quill and Thread are Bill and Ted stand ins, setting off on an adventure to find their villain through various sword fighting literary icons. On their journey they encounter the Three Musketeers, Cyrano- and curiously Tybalt and Mercutio from Romeo and Juliet.
This isn't a show with a super deep plot. It's quite simple because the show itself wants to showcase the thing it's most interested in: The sword fighting.
This show is in love with sword fighting. The actors play with their weapons the entire time, with some witty repartee peppered in to move them from set piece to set piece. Your love of this show hinges on whether or not that is a positive or negative for you. If you hate swordfighting, this will not be for you? Love Ren Fairs, and sword fighting and copious amounts of silliness to go with it? This is your show.
The sword fighting can get a bit messy and chaotic, and it's very easy to miss the funny quips that come at you, but the show overall is a fun ride.
