Private Parts displays that sometimes a secret can be defined not by what is hidden, but by what is revealed.
Joanna is a capable storyteller who most will probably know from her production "Bangs, Bobs, and Banter" but while there she shows how easily she can slip and slide between roles; here she displays her incredible ability to display deep personal truths in a beautiful deeply moving way.
It is no surprise that she can act, but what is truly shocking here is just how vulnerable and wrenching her confessions can be. They ones that start light reveal more and more layers until you can see the beating heart displayed underneath it in a beautiful collage of who she is.
Private Parts was the first Fringe show I had the pleasure of seeing back in the day (Go Red Venue twin!) and has only improved with age. This vulnerable, creative and dynamic story is a beautiful slice of her life that leaves the audience appreciative, moved and hopefully reflective on the secrets that we all still carry.
