Martin Dockery has a way of taking something innocuous and turning it into something big, hilarious and surprisingly touching.
What starts as a description dedicated exclusively to a malfunctioning audio guide (which he's not sure you should get), quickly evolves into a hilarious adventure of experiences that culminates with a surprisingly touching tribute to his growing family. His typical affect plays perfectly into this show that displays his frustrations and rage, but still hints at the under current of family and the importance of exploration over consumerism.
Martin is a master storyteller who at this point could make a show about a toaster and I'd still probably love it- but remains as one of the best high points of the Fringe circuit and a dynamic and interesting performer with an impressively consistent catalogue of hits. At this point he is as consistent as pizza, but not as edible.
