It's a rare treat when you get to see a show develop from an initial run to something much bigger and better.
I first had the honour of seeing this show in it's initial form for a performance at the Storefront Theatre in (many) years ago. But to see what it's become so many years later is truly humbling.
Rebecca Perry has taken a cute little feel good show, and polished it to a shining gleam. She is sweet, charming and delightful and she moves through this performance like someone who has done it countless times before. Likely because she has.
Perry has such a likeability and lightness in her performance as she expertly weaves in a romantic comedy coming of age story with true delight and optimism.
This is cute, bubbly and sweet. A feel good piece that feels more and more necessary in a world that seems to forget that optimism is needed. In a world that feels so stressed, having a familiar, lovely show to come back to, helmed by a charismatic and beautiful presence. With a great dose of early 2010's nostalgia, a charming guide and a fantastic use of Jane Goodall, this is a show that has lasted so long for a reason.
