Breaking Brains: A Lewd Lesson in Polyamory

Miss Dana has an interesting challenge.

On the one hand this show threatens to overwhelm the status quo assumptions of relationships. On the other, it threatens to minimize a subject that is so large and challenging into bite sized parts that would turn away those who practice it. 

Coming from one perspective on it, I think Miss Dana does a wonderful job threading the needle with a near-perfect explainer show that brings many people into the umbrella without coming across as preachy, while also encouraging discussion with a wide variety of perspectives that encourages curiosity. 

Everything is broken down into easy to understand segments and she effortlessly commands the room with charm. The lecture format works well and serves to highlight the intricacies of a complicated to understand world for those who have never been exposed to it. 

Breaking Brains does a good job with narration, and the creator goes over some stories about their own personal experiences, but it could benefit from going a bit deeper into some of the history of them, but the glimpses we get are stimulating and engaging. 

A great work, from a great talent, and an incredible bright spot in the Ivanhoe lineup.
