A Hollywood Horror Story

Ingrid Garner could be one of the finest actors in the Fringe circuit. From the first time I'd seen her Eleanor shows, she's had an incredible ability to fall in and out of characters at the drop of a hat, and now with A Hollywood Horror Story, I can safely say she's done it again.

As a long time fan of Elvira (don't hate me Ingrid) I had always known of Vampira, but the story behind her is rich and fascinating and the way that Ingrid manages to capture her and all her facets is absolutely delightful.

This show is worth the price of admission for her mannerisms alone. Garner has a natural talent of embodying a character so thoroughly that you instantly buy in, but the way she can instantly switch between characters with nothing but an accent shift and a flick of her hand is mesmerizing.

A story of hardships, and hope, this show taught me so much about the enduring power of an icon - and also Vampira.
